《 The Mesh of Being 》
Masatake Shinohara × Yuta Hayakawa × Nobuaki Onishi TALK
If we posit that matter exists prior to human language and thought, how, then, does the world emerge? In this talk, we are joined by social philosopher Masatake Shinohara to explore the horizons of perception, centered on the intersections of "materiality" and "the everyday."
Matter itself possesses the power to fundamentally unsettle human thought, confronting us with new questions. Artworks born from such dialogues with "things" often reveal the very fabric of the reality we inhabit. This is profoundly true of the work of Yuta Hayakawa and Nobuaki Onishi; how might our daily lives be reframed through the unique "dynamics of space" they construct? We invite you to join us in a collective inquiry into their practices, which compel us to reconsider the nature of perception and our understanding of the world. Following the talk, food catering by art manager Natsu Kashiwamoto will be provided, offering an opportunity for informal dialogue among the speakers and attendees. 1975年神奈川県生まれ。京都大学大学院人間・環境学研究科博士課程修了。博士（人間・環境学）。京都大学大学院総合生存学館（思修館）特定准教授。専門は哲学・環境人文学。主な著書に『公共空間の政治理論』（人文書院、2007）、『空間のために』（以文社、2011）、『全−生活論』（以文社、2012）、『生きられたニュータウン』（青土社、2015）、『複数性のエコロジー』（以文社、2016）、『人新世の哲学』（人文書院、2018）、『「人間以後」の哲学』（講談社選書メチエ、2020）。主な翻訳書として『社会の新たな哲学』（マヌエル・デランダ著、人文書院、2015）、『自然なきエコロジー』（ティモシー・モートン著、以文社、2018）、『光に住み着く』（川内倫子との共著、torch press、2025）
