Yuta Hayakawa derives sculpture as a unique phenomenon by intervening through his own actions into dynamics such as gravity and the inherent properties of matter. Nobuaki Onishi transforms familiar objects into "écriture" that transcend language, employing molding and coloring techniques adapted from printmaking.

This talk delves into how the terms "sculpture" and "printmaking"—concepts both artists consistently champion while carving out their own unique territories—function as guiding tenets for their creative expression. We will explore the resonance between the "material presence" of sculpture and the "reproducibility" inherent in printmaking. The impact of these elements may evoke a viewing experience akin to "encountering a work with fresh eyes." We invite you to join us in sparking an inquiry into their practices, which fundamentally transform our perception and our understanding of the world.
